Holy Crap I Just Quit My Job

Cultivating the fight against addiction

It legitimately feels like I’m on the edge of a cliff – you know, that rush of anxious anticipation – the feeling where you want so badly to jump, but you’re so terrified at the same time. And God keeps saying, "Trust Me, Zack. I’ll catch you. Jump. I dare you." If there’s one thing I’ve learned in sobriety, it’s that God does not let us down. He is faithful, and I trust Him with my life. God has a plan. I’ve referenced it a few times, but this whole CLTIVATE thing…it’s a God thing. I’m at the point where I have to choose a life of wondering “what if”, or a life of trusting God completely.

So, I’m choosing God. I’m jumping into His arms, and I’m not looking back.

Last week, I officially resigned from my full-time job. My last day will be Friday, December 23rd. I have absolutely no clue how I'm going to make ends meet, but that's why they call it faith. (You can go ahead and donate here, but I'd like you to keep reading.)

Below is the actual resignation letter I wrote to my boss:

Zack Gudzan's CLTIVATE resignation letter

CLTIVATE is my purpose in life. I’m now in a position to use my past to help other people.

If I don’t take this leap of faith now, I will always wonder “what if.” Feel free to question me, to say it’s crazy, or make fun of my faith. I still choose God – even if it means giving up my life.

All of that being said, I’m going to really need your help – especially between now and December 23rd. I have no clue where money will come from, I won’t have insurance, a computer, a routine, free lunch on Fridays, an office, awesome coworkers, or any sense of security.

Here are some easy ways for you to help:

  1. DONATE – Every donation from now until December 23rd will be used for startup expenses, food (for me and Ziva), and everything that goes into not being homeless. You can donate in any of the following ways:
  1. SHARE THIS BLOG POST – I want this to go viral. Share it on Facebook, buy a shirt and post about it on Instagram, use Twitter, email it to a friend or coworker, share it on LinkedIn, anything.

Also, please follow @CLTIVATE on Instagram and Like the Facebook page.

  1. PRAY FOR ME – Please, please, please keep me in your prayers. While I’m completely confident in my faith, I’m still human. Doubt creeps in sometimes, and I start to question everything. Your prayers and encouragement mean the world to me.

I’ll go ahead and prepare for my mind to be blown. Seriously, if you want to make a difference in someone’s life, I’m right here raising my hand. This is your chance. CLTIVATE is going to reach a ton of people, it’s going to change lives, and it’s going to start a movement. I’d love for you to be part of it. Thank you so much for reading this! God bless you.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

*Also, today (Nov 10th) is my birthday. I'm 29 years old, but I have a feeling we're just getting started ;)
