Jan 5 - Balance

Today, I'm finding it challenging to strike that perfect work/life balance everyone talks about. Some days, I focus entirely on CLTIVATE, and I forget to take care of myself. Other days, I get so caught up in eating right, hitting the gym, prayer, reading, paying bills, AA meetings, etc. that my work gets little to no attention. Speeding up certainly doesn't help. In fact, the only thing that does seem to work is SLOWING DOWN. Every day that I'm sober is a success for me - that in itself is a huge accomplishment, and it requires daily prayer, meditation, and "me time". But it doesn't stop there.   How do you find balance? Are you able to keep up with...

Jan 4 - All We Have

If I do my very best today, tomorrow will take care of itself. Matthew 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Dear God, thank you for another day. Thank you for loving me. Today, I pray that you would guide my steps and be my hands, eyes, voice, and ears. Sometimes work and life collide, and it’s just too much for 24 hours. What do you do when that happens?  "Many of us feel stress and get overwhelmed not because we're taking on too much, but because we're taking on too little of what really strengthens us." -Marcus Buckingham On the stressful days, it’s important to do something that fulfills you. Whether it’s going for a run, prayer, walking your dog, or reading a book, you have to set aside time – especially when it seems like there is no time. “God, I’m stressed. Please give me peace. I pray that you would teach me to see the good in all of this. The job that stresses me out –...

It’s a new year! But does anything look different? Look around your bedroom. Check your bank account. Look in the mirror. Has anything changed? Do you want anything to change? "If you always do what you’ve always done, You’ll always get what you’ve always got." -Henry Ford Try throwing some stuff away. Maybe rearrange the furniture in your room. Maybe text or call some of your friends and just let them know you’re thankful for them. Your circumstances won’t change if your perception stays the same. Change your view. Go for a walk, hit the gym, write down your goals, and take action! Most importantly, pray. You can do it right now, and it won’t cost you anything. If you...
