January 2 - One Day at a Time - Zack Gudzan Blog

Sometimes work and life collide, and it’s just too much for 24 hours. What do you do when that happens?

"Many of us feel stress and get overwhelmed not because we're taking on too much, but because we're taking on too little of what really strengthens us."

-Marcus Buckingham

On the stressful days, it’s important to do something that fulfills you. Whether it’s going for a run, prayer, walking your dog, or reading a book, you have to set aside time – especially when it seems like there is no time.

“God, I’m stressed. Please give me peace. I pray that you would teach me to see the good in all of this. The job that stresses me out – I’m thankful to have a job. My family – I’m thankful for them, even when they drive me crazy. These bills – thank you for the opportunity to pay for things that others long for. My health – I’m just thankful to be alive. Father, I have been selfish today. I’m so concerned with myself that I forgot to help others. I pray that you would rest my soul tonight. Thank you for loving me. Amen.”
