It Has to Rain Sometimes
Conflict inevitably arises when I want something for myself that God does not want.
Jesus is the King of Peace - the opposite of conflict. When my own will becomes aligned with God's will, peace transcends. God only want what's best for me. He's the very essence of good.
So...why is it so hard for me to put away my selfish desires for His better (and perfect) plan?
Why is it so hard for me to stop striving and just enjoy the ride?
Bitterness takes root when I put focus and energy into what I don't have.
Gratitude and peace take root when I put focus and energy into what I do have.
God is not withholding. He has my best interest at heart. Always.
Here's a letter I wrote to myself a few months back:
"Dude, just go with it. Jesus brought peace to the storm, and your salvation gives you direct access to His power and peace. Bring your peace, bro. Stop being so shaken by dark clouds and thunder. It has to rain sometimes."
Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. -Mark 4:39
